Angele Gray has been described as "a gritty and determined" top-order batsman who has performed consistently over a number of years for Western Australia. She will need those qualities when she embarks upon perhaps her biggest challenge yet - a 4000km bike ride across Australia to raise money for diabetes work, and also raise awareness. She will undertake the ride with WA team-mate, Avril Fahey, who was diagnosed with diabetes in 2003.
After making her debut for Western Australia in 1992-93, Gray captained them from1996 - 1998. She also played in the team that contested the WNCL final in 1999 and has coached the WA Under-19 squad. Away from cricket, she is the regional co-ordinator for the Active After-school Communities Program.
