Grant Lindsay's medium-pace bowling and handy lower-order hitting make him well-suited to one-day cricket. Although he is not a contracted player, Lindsay has been a regular in Victoria's limited-overs team since his debut in December 2005. His bowling has been steady but not spectacular and despite injuries tearing through the Bushrangers' fast-bowling line-up in early 2006-07, the selectors did not promote him to the Pura Cup squad until the last game of the season. His batting ability - Lindsay has made four centuries for Geelong in Melbourne club cricket - has helped him retain his place in the Ford Ranger Cup team. He had few opportunities to make runs in his debut year but in his first one-day match of 2006-07 his 59 from 49 deliveries batting at No.8 was valuable. Brydon Coverdale May 2007
