Division One

Northamptonshire squeezed to a four-wicket win with six balls to spare against Warwickshire at Edgbaston. The match was reduced to 28 overs-a-side after rain during Warwickshire's innings and Northants were left with a revised target of 158 in 28 overs. Lance Klusener and Rob White added a quickfire 48 in six overs for the sixth wicket to take their side most of the way. Adam Shantry took three wickets against his former team but it wasn't enough to build on Moeen Ali's one-day best 64 off 61 balls.

Lancashire suffered their second wash-out in three games as their clash against Durham at Chester-le-Street was victim of the weather. The umpires called the match off at 4pm without a ball bowled.

Division Two

Anthony McGrath hit a one-day best 148 as Yorkshire sealed a high-scoring 16-run win over struggling Somerset at Taunton. McGrath 118 for the first wicket with Craig White and 148 for the second with Darren Lehmann as the Somerset attack was taken to the cleaners. However, the home side didn't go down without a fight as James Hildreth and Wesley Durston launched rollicking half-centuries after Neil Edwards had gone for 65. Durston faced 45 balls for his unbeaten 62 and launched three sixes, but wasn't enough as Yorkshire had enough runs to play with.

Hampshire secured a thrilling one-wicket victory over Derbyshire at the Rose Bowl when Billy Taylor drove the last ball of the match for a straight four. Hampshire appeared to be coasting home as they reached 149 for 1, following an opening stand of 89 between Michael Carberry and John Crawley. However, the middle order fell away and Crawley was left to reach a ton off 110 balls. When he fell the equation came down to 11 from the final over and Hampshire just made it. Derbyshire's useful total was built around a brace of 70s from Steve Stubbings and Gary Balance, the Zimbabwe Under-19 player on debut, but the remaining batsmen couldn't quite build on the platform.
