Netherlands 281 for 8 (Rambaldo 59, Jackson 3-46) beat Bermuda 85 (Jackson 26, Tanke 3-18) by 196 runs

Bermuda recovered from the ignominy of being bowled out for 13 yesterday, managing 85 today against Netherlands. They still lost, however, by the thumping margin of 196 runs as Netherlands marched into the semi-finals.

Netherlands' huge 281 for 8 was set-up by a captain's innings of 59 by Helmien Rambaldo. She received good support from Pauline te Beest (22), the pair putting on 78 for the second wicket, and after Rambaldo was caught off Maryellen Jackson, Leonie Hoitink chivvied the lower-order with a useful 34.

The major contributor, though, were the extras: 94 of them, 81 of which were wides, as Bermuda's bowlers again struggled to find the cut strip. Linda Mienzer delivered 21 of them in her seven overs; Terry-Lynn Paynter 15.

Maryellen Jackson top-scored for Bermuda with 26 in their chase but after reducing them to 54 for 6, Netherlands were always in charge. Mienzer, the captain, couldn't better her 48-ball 1 yesterday, offering a 20-ball duck. Annemarie Tanke picked up 3 for 18 with her legbreaks as Netherlands dismissed Bermuda in the 37th over to record a massive win.

Ireland 143 for 1 (I Joyce 45*) beat Scotland 142 for 8 (Anderson 41, I Joyce 3-21) by nine wickets

Ireland got their campaign back on track with a convincing nine-wicket win over Scotland to set up a make-or-break match against Zimbabwe on Thursday.

Scotland could only manage 142 for 8 in their 50 overs - Kari Anderson top-scoring with 41 from 121 balls - with Isobel Joyce picking up 3 for 21. Ireland's other bowlers weren't quite so disciplined though: 54 out of 60 extras were wides.

Ireland were out of the traps quickly in their chase, Clare Shillington and Caitriona Beggs putting on 63 for the first wicket in 11.4 overs. But it was Joyce who sealed the match with an enterprising 45 from 33 balls, earning her the Player of the Match award, as Ireland romped home by nine wickets.

"It was good to win today as were very disappointed to lose yesterday" said Joyce. "I think it will be important to play well against Zimbabwe. We need to keep things tight in the field and cut out the extras."

Pakistan 59 for 1 (Maroof 25*) beat Zimbabwe 58 (Mumtaz 3-14, Sana 3-7) by nine wickets

Pakistan needed just 13 overs to knock off the 59 runs needed to beat Zimbabwe and notch a comprehensive nine-wicket win.

Zimbabwe were immediately on the back foot, stumbling to 26 for 3 in the eleventh over. They took another 14 overs to add 10 runs - Yvonne Rainsford taking 37 balls for her 1 - as Pakistan's bowlers maintained their control. Urooj Mumtaz mopped up the tail with her legbreaks, picking up 3 for 14 while Sana Mir took 3 for 7 from her six overs.

Tasqeen Qadeer was trapped lbw for 14, but Bismah Maroof took Pakistan home with 25, aided by 15 extras.

South Africa women 298 for 7 (Anderson 91, Terblanche 76) beat Papua New Guinea women 28 (David 7, Kilowan 4-14) by 270 runs

South Africa hammered Papua New Guinea by 270 runs as PNG were bowled out for a squalid 28. It wasn't quite as abject as Bermuda's 13 all out yesterday, but not far off, and South Africa romp into the semi-finals.

South Africa hammered 298 in their 50 overs, Olivia Anderson laying the base with a fine 91 at the top of the innings. Crucially, she was given good support from South Africa's middle order, sharing in a 144-run third-wicket stand with Claire Terblanche. It was Terblanche who gave the innings real momentum, cracking eight fours in her brisk 76 from 68 balls, as South Africa reached an imposing 298 for 7.

PNG stumbled to 12 for 3, but that represented their only high: they collapsed, losing 16 for 8, and no batsman reached double figures. Boni David top-scored with 7 from 30 balls and Ashlyn Kilowan was the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 14.
