November 10, 2004

Yograj Singh, Yuvraj Singh's father, has been sentenced to six months in prison for causing grievous injury to a scooter-rider in a road accident. The charge was denied, but the prosecution said that Yograj's car number plate was found at the site of the accident, which took place in 2000.

Yograj played one Test and six one-dayers for India in 1980-81. In his only Test, against New Zealand, he claimed the wicket of John Wright, India's current coach.
