Joe Hussain, the father of former England captain Nasser, played once for Madras, where he was born, but after completing a degree in 1963 he briefly migrated to England before returning to Madras until he went back to England for a second time in 1975. Since 1995 he had run the indoor school in Ilford. He had two other sons - Mel, who played for Worcestershire, and Abbas who played for Essex 2nd XI.
